HELP! Heater broke inside tank!

It proboy didn't rust in the tank U mead air and water for rust. Your nitrate worries is
Glass in tank fish could eat ( cyphon or net it out you can take the sand also in the area of the heater)
Depending on the heater you could have mercury in the tank if its thermostat broke look for a tube like a thermomater or burnt sand
I would add max amount of prime just to be safe
I haven't broke a heater in a salty tank but my ciclids have killed a few just be though in the clean up step back and look and wen you thank you got it all out wait a few min and look atone its eAsy to miss glass

Yep..has happened to me too. Just clean up the mess, do a water change, run some carbon and you should be fine.
Rust is an oxidation product of iron (FeO3) - you absolutely not need any "air", all that is required is oxygen which we have plenty in our tanks.
Get all the pieces out, run some carbon and do a waterchange and unless the heater was really old don't expect any side effects...
