I moved a piece of coral today and found this attached to the bottom. Is this normal?

To blurry man...back the camera off a little and focus it.

Just looks a sponges to me. Those are good.

I set a wide aperture, so the depth of field is only a few mm's. Look just right of center for the orange piece that's infocus.

I know, blah blah, just get the whole picture in focus. I'll take another and open it up some.

I can't get the upload to work anymore. The popup starts the download and then just goes white. Then I get an error on the post page after a long hang ... This page requires ACRunActiveContent.js.

I'll try again later.

That's easy. It's a white square with a lil red X in it. Obviously I can't see the pic for some reason :).

Ah, I think I have it now...

If you are talking about that white blob, it looks like a sponge to me...

Thanks guys. I assume it's not harmful. It keeps attaching itself to the bottom of the coral, away from the light. So far no signs of stress on either. I guess I'll keep an eye on it. I tried searching ARC and RC but could find anything easily. Thanks again.

Thats what my white sponges do mostly. If it is a sponge it is completely harmless and they actually consume some silicates if I remember correctly.
