Help Identifying Red Object Came out of Live Rock

This red object has appeared in my tank. I am uncertain on what it is. It must of came out of the live rock. I have an idea of what it might be, but I am a newbie so I am probably wrong!

It is about 1/2 inch long. Please see the pic with the astrea snail for size comparison.

looks like bubble algae.

Is it on the rock or on the glass? Does it move?

I get "frilly" red algae that grows out of my rock every once in a while, it looks something like Rhodophyta algae but I'm not sure that is it...

It is on the rock and has not moved but I just noticed it recently.

In the top down pic, it looks like a red lettuce type algae. Is sort of flat like a piece of a lettuce leaf or is it more full like bubble algae?

I think it is bubble algae. I was not aware bubble algae could be red.

I have a few of these as well on some of my rock i bought recently. i assumed it was some type of mushroom as there is a base to to it, similar to a mushroom. It is slowly speading and some are pink, one is white but glows green under actinics. when the lights are off it shrinks but when i kick on the lights in opens up and thrives....i am a newbie as well so id be kinda dissappointed if it is bubble algae.:yuk:
