I recently purchased a BTA and was wondering if anyone of anything that i could do that would prevent it from getting sucked up in my powerhead???

What type of powerhead you have? How big a tank?

Wrapping a powerhead in filter cloth works on koralia pumps, but reduces the flow.

On my next tank, I'm either going to spray paint a colander black and put that over the powerheard, or

I'm going to put a false wall on back of the tank (think sump area of a nano tank), and just stick the discharge of the pump through, which should be ultra safe.......

Wrap the outside of the PH in an open cell type sponge. Good luck. Same thing happened to me the first night I had my RBTA.

Wow, I watched most of that vid........ 6 minute video to demonstrate mesh and zip ties over the impeller housing. I think 3 pics could have done it. :D

That would certainly keep the nem's foot safe, but concerned the tenticles would still go through the vegematic.......

Anything smaller than a gutter guard and the flow of the powerhead will be affected...right?
I liked the idea in the link that Linda posted...with the plastic filter material...again concerned about the flow and would have to clean gunk off it a lot more.
