What can I use to house my DIY Pendant? I made it some time ago and honestly it is KILLER. Corals grow like mad under it, but it isn't "finished" ..

1) I need to house it in something and install a splash guard.

2) I need to simplify the wires (maybe even put an inline disconnect)

Any help or ideas is appreciated.

Cost.. ? Lets go for under $100 or so... if possible

I'll post pics later to help.

Thanks. B

Dimensions would be helpful as well:):)

Molex connectors are fairly cheap for the disconnect. As for a splash guard, I say a cheap piece of Lexan from HD.

You could build an acrylic box. You can order the pieces pre-cut to size from TAPPlastics.com, and just glue them together with Weld-on #16.

Also, you can order empty light housings (like the commercial T5 and CF fixtures use) from Catalina Aquatics, or find an old CF fixture that no one wants anymore and use the housing from that.

Few options would be to trim it with some aluminum corner from Lowes or HD. Attach wood to the aluminum for aesthetic puposes if so desired. Place Lexan/Plexi over the LED's and bolt to couplers which would be epoxied onto the heatsink. Just a couple ideas.

I recently had success with buying acrylic from Tap Plastics and making a splashguard from a piece of Lexan from a local big box store. I actually put my splash guard on the outside of the case with a few spacers to allow for air to escape through the bottom of the case.

As for connectors, I found DC barrel connectors to be pretty simple to use.

don't know if this will give you any ideas or not but this is what I did with mine

Guerrys build turned out well. I like the open top!! Also, the lexan from HD is good.
