I have a solana 60 gallon cube , if i can figure out how to make this drain quieter would be nice?? it is a 1-1/2 pvc tube half way up inside the box, with a 1-1/2 " Tee on top of it. that's it. it gurgles as the water enters the side of the Tee?? any suggestions:huh:

I am not an expert on this by any means, but is there a hole drilled on the top of the tee for more air to escape as water drains? I have a regular old premade durso that has a hole on the top of the bend. It gurgled so I drilled the hole larger and it stopped. Others on here probably have better advice but that worked for me. Good luck, sucks for those of us without bean animal or herby drain setups.

the top of the tee is wide open , plenty of air

Edit: imagine a 14" tall 1-1/2 pvc tube with just a 1-1/2 tee on the top of it

the noise comes from air leaving the pipe you have a couple options.

1. a larger return pump so it pushes the drain to capacity
2. put a ball valve on the drain so you can throttle it back to match you current pump

Thanks Clay, I already have a ball valve on the drain I will adjust it and see what happens

Edit: I shut the valve some and walla , quiet as a mouse!! Thanks , sometimes the simplest things make life more enjoyable.
