Help?! Something in tank

I have these little little worms looking things. It could be pods but I am not sure. They are red and some are gray. They are free swimming and wiggle as they move. I can't take a pic. I'm really starting to worry they are a problem. I havent seen anything like them before and there are thousands in teh tank atm.

as much as we are willing to help you out with your problem going to be kinda hard to identify I would google what your looking for and compare a few pics until you identify it exactly by photo

look on the internet to find a picture there... search the hitchhikers ID thread in the "beginner section"

without a picture... we can't help..

Most worms are harmless, so don't panic. Except for the swimming part, it sounds like fireworms or bristleworms. I've never seen them swim.

Could it be brine shimp larvee? Did you feed somthing that contains larvee or eggs recently? One time I fed and accidentally left the powerheads off all night and had the same thing your describing, they were gone by the next day and my fish were fat and happy.
