I have a Tideline External Overflow on my aquarium. I have always had a very small leak in the connection that I cannot solve. I have the gasket/o-ring installed as pictured below. I have always been bothered with this as I always was told the gasket goes on the tank side where the water is located. By this logic I would have one in the wier and one in the overflow itself, however the addition of all the acrylic surfaces can ruin the usual logic. I can't remove the bulkheads from inside the wier to add any gaskets so that is moot. However I am wondering if there is any reason I can't apply silicone on the bulkhead inside the wier and bond it to the wier?

Has anyone had any other placement of gaskets to have success with this overflow box?

Any help appreciated

I had a very small leak in Tideline overflow box, like a drip every 5-10 seconds or so. I put Silicone around the bulkhead and had sealed it right up
