Thinking about using this on the 150 gallon if it is big enough. Any body got an idea what brand and size? Thanks

Homemade Beckett injector. Unless the Beckett comes apart, it would be difficult to clean.

Nope, not a beckett. That's a venturi skimmer. Appears to be Kent injector (never seen a white one though).

Yep. Looks like a generic/DIY venturi skimmer. I definitely not risk your 150 with it.

What's wrong with him trying. I have seen tons of DIY skimmer work. As long as there is control of air, water pressure, and control of water flow it should do the job. My.aqua c 180 looks exactly the same as in the idea of it. Test it out and if it does the job, I wouldn't hesitate in using it.

Every skimmer works; heck, even the seaclone works!</em> That unit is just not going to work well enough for a 150. Why go through the heartbreak when you don't have to? There are always used skimmers available at great deals, so he may not have to spend very much either.

And the aqua c doesn't use a Venturi. It uses a pinched piece of PVC to simulate the effect of putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose. Although the two units may look the same, they differ in technology.

Thanks guys. For what I see here, it may do the job and the answer I want is oh yeah, it will do. SO back to the drawing board and looking for a skimmer.

If you're looking for a beckett skimmer, check out the one that I posted in the for sale thread - about 1/4th the cost of a new equivalent.
