Help with an Aggressor AIS-90 Skimmer

I bought this as a backup unit so I was testing it in a sump that I have. At first, it produces micro bubbles but then it stops. It's a Marine Life Aquatics Aggressor AIS-90 and I assume the pump is original to the skimmer. It does have a pinwheel impeller installed. I'm thinking about drilling a hole on the inlet side to allow the water to pull more air in. Anybody use one of these?

Which pump came with yours? Any pics of it in operation?

No pics of it in operation. Not sure they'd tell you anything anyway except you see water going in the column and water coming out. I don't know what brand the pump is...the name is worn off. It has a flow adjustment on the front and the needle impeller installed. I'll see if I can find more info on the pump.
