I'm on my 2nd auto feeder this week. I broke a new one I just bought and remembered this one I bought used some time ago with other items.

The door doesn't stay closed. Am I doing something wrong (being blond) or is broke also?

Thanks

Yes and followed them. It doesn't say anything about how to lock the door. I'm assuming its broke since it won't stay closed.

It doesn't make cuz the drum rotates. so here's how it works: when the drum rotates to a certain angle where the door is approximately a right angle with the surface of the water, the weight of the door will cause the door to swing and release food. You can test this out yourself. You can't make the door open (unless you intentionally do so) when the door is at it's highest point and you can't force it to close at the lowest point. The mechanism behind this feeder is, really in one word, gravity

Ok so your saying it automatically goes to the proper angle at feeding time? I was thinking it would click around at a "pace" depending on hours between feedings.
So I just position it at the top to start, at programmed feeding time it spins to proper angle to drop food. That's easy enough, (so it was a blond moment). :)
Thanks

Have you tried the Hydor units? They are pretty basic as far as a timer and gate opening. A step above would be the Eheim ones with a digital timer.

Or you could be like me and put the Apex AFS module on your Xmas wish list :D!

I would love the Apex AFS for Christmas, unfortunately my name isn't on anyones list that has $100 lol

HEY SANTA :)
Know what I want?
