HELP with Lights

I have a 200 gallon aquarium 72x24x24 I plan on doing reef with both hard and soft coral. I am having a hard time settling on what type of lights to get. I do know I want a fixture that does both night and day...any suggestions?:yay:

Well, you're going to have to plan for your most light hungry animals. If you're going to do sps's you'll need some decent lights. If you go MH you'll need 250w to get down to the 24" depth (no 75 or 150 stuff). You can also light it with T5, or a combination of both.

I use exclusively t5 on my sps tank at 24" deep and keep things all the way on the bottom, but that's just my preference.

I think before folks can start suggesting fixtures it would be great to have a price range.

IMO lighting is one of the things you dont want to skimp on. the other is skimming
