Help with protein Skimmer.

How do i know if ive set up the flow of my skimmer properly?

There is alot of bubbles in the bottom section of the tank and then a small foam on the top of the water but nothing is going near the collection cup.

It would help if you state what model is your skimmer, picture might even help more. But there are always an inlet and outlet on a skimmer. So if the outlet exceeds the inlet then the bubbles will never reach the top of the rim (after skimmer break in period). Most skimmer will have an adjustment on a skimmer for the outlet.

Well that looks like a venturi skimmer. If it comes with its own pump then you will have to adjust the outlet but raising it up and down. If it doesn't come with its own pump , then you will have to get a more powerful pump to feed it; if adjusting the outlet up and and down doesn't help.
