help with sliding filter floss in sump

I am using 2 filter floss pads, spaced about 1" apart, between my first and second baffles for microbubbles. It works pretty good until the pads slide down to the bottom. Any advice on how to get them to stay put?
 
Pictures of what you mean would be better. I think the issue is that the filter is getting clogged and becomes heavier. I would take that as a sign that i need to change it out.
 
It won't even stay put for a day, and doesn't look clogged when I take it out.
 
maybe some small suction cups with sometype of plastic hook.

mike just use plastic clips, like the ones used for feeding nori.
 
or you could drill and tap some holes and put in nylon thumb screws.

Try wrapping the filter pad material around some egg crate that's been cut to size. Then simply slide it in.
