I cut my VHO ballast out of setup because I wanted to get rid of my VHO bulbs for good. Now I've changed my mind, and I'm having serious issues getting the wires matched back up.

It's this ballast http://www.plccenter.com/buy/ADVANCE+BALLAST/RS2S1102TP">http://www.plccenter.com/buy/ADVANCE+BALLAST/RS2S1102TP</a>

I'ts a captive sun retrofit and it's going to two 110 watt VHO sockets. The ballast has a diagram, but the sockets dont. I've tried and tried. grrrrr....

I've got a VHO set up to suppliment my T5's. I can take a picture if that will help. Do you just need to know what wires go to which endcap? Dont know if I can help but I will try. PM me if you want and I can send you a picture.

Yea, the ballast has 6 cords coming out of it, 2 of which are yellow, which the diagram shows as splittling to cover one side of both bulbs. The wires coming from the bulbs as best I can tell also have six--with the black and white branching into two and covering one side of both bulbs. The other wires FROM the bulbs are orange/red and green/blue.

So, ballast is yellow/yellow - shows branching
red/red
blue/blue

Bulbs are:

Black/white
Orange/red
Yellow/green

OK. The way it is set up is this. I have two bulbs. One yellow wire goes to the bulb on the left and one goes to the bulb on the right and a second yellow goes directly from one bulb to the other. Two blue wires go to the other end of one bulb and two red wires go to the end of the other bulb. So one bulb has two yellows on one end and two blues on the other and the second bulb has two yellow wires on one end and two blue on the other. The caps only have two wires each going to them. I took some pictures if this doesnt help.

See, that was your first problem, lol. There is NO replacement for VHO actinics...they just can't be beat. If all else fails, look up the wiring guide online for your ballast.

Got it guys! Thanks so much.

And yea, VHO really can't be beat for awesome actinic light
