My husband and I picked up a 30g Nuvo a couple of months ago with invertebrates, 2 clowns and some coral. We have added 1 fish and some coral and are completely enjoying the tank. We do plan on coming down to the swap meet on Sunday. My question is what benefits do we get for becoming members? Also if my husband I both want to join is there a family membership fee? Thank you!!
 
Hey welcome to ARC and to the hobby. We are glad to have you. One of the biggest benefits are the discounts you get from sponsoring LFSs. It is usually 10% off. Another is you are allowed to join in on the raffles that we have during the meetings. We usually do $50 gift cards to a LFS. So if you win one that more than pays for the membership. There are members that offer free frags to new members as well. Sometimes people offer great deals for members only. That are just a few benefits.
 
Thank you!! My husband is really enjoy his tank more than he ever thought he would. We are eventually looking at getting a his and her 100+ gallon in the future.

I have (almost) matching 120 gallon tanks sitting in my garage that I'm hoping to sell pretty soon - you could each have your own tank. :cool:

Welcome to the addiction. What I get out of ARC is that I have fellow members that are suffering from the same addiction that we can feel safe talking about our problems. :)
