One other thought for the future is a peristaltic feed pump for your calcium reactor, and I didn't mention it because of the cost. $20 for a Test Kit is one thing, but a $250-$300 feed pump is another.
One of the hardest things to regulate, for me anyways, was the effluent rate through the reactor. I used to just come off a manifold off my return pump, and the effluent rate fluctuated wildly. Got gummed up with junk from the media, etc.
When I installed a used MasterFlex peristaltic pump to feed the reactor, the effluent rate became rock steady. I dialed in my reactor to a KH of 9, and just tested KH again after several months, and it was 9.4. A steady effluent rate will go very far to ensuring stability in your system KH as well, but I'd give a feed pump a lower priority right now vs what you can do with what I have already suggested.
