Looking for some input here . I have the kessil controller and have read the manual . After figuring out how to use it now I'm ready to set it up for it's daily cycle. Some things I've read 8hrs , 10rs , even found a guy that suggested 12 hr periods . I have no idea really . I figured 8 to 9hrs but also have no idea about intensity vs color .

What lights are you coming from? Size of the tank? Number and model Kelssels?

That being said, I would start at the short end of the duration and intensitiy and work your way up. The damage from excessive light happens very fast while the "damage" from too little takes quite a long time in most cases.

Kessil 160, on a 29biocube . It's a new tank no inhabitants yet. Plan on adding some this weekend.

I usually start with a 5 hour white cycle and see how that goes. Add a half hour every other week and see how things react. When I did this, I got to about 8 hours with whites on and started getting some algae. So I turned it back to 8.5 hrs on white, let things settle and started turning up the intensity slowly.
