We have a clam that is attached to a rock and we want to move him, but not kill him or hurt him. Any ideas

Mine attaches to everything. I have pulled slowly on the clam and it let's go. I've heard several people say it will hurt them, etc. I've had mine for several years and its doing perfect. After several moves.

Nooooo!!!! Don't pull!!! Get a sharp razor and cut the byssal threads as far from the clam as possible. Of you can't get far from the clam, you'll risk cutting the byssal gland (foot).

LOL you haven't busted any myth, you've so far dodged the bullets if anything.

Busted myth? You know how many clams have died by just yanking them like that. A LOT. It isnt a myth.

Exactly. Luck is more like it.

You could try and cut the rock the clam is on with bone cutters. If you can get to it...

Lol sorry my sarcasm could of been taken literal. I shouldn't of posted my previous statement.

I have done it before with no ill results. Poor recommendation.
