Are there any rules of thumb etc... that i can work off.

My tank is a 240l (60 Gallon english think thats 55 Gallon American)

I found a pak @ saltwater.com under the invert section and then went to my lfs and got what i needed alge I am happy to report is now all but gone .

I can tell you whats worked for me on my 54 I had....I dont think it was scientific but I never had concerns....

20 Blue legs
20 Scarlets
10 Turbos
2 Emeralds
1 Sandsifter Star (after it was established)
10-15 Nassarius snails

Again....These are all I ever used but theres lots more variancse you will find and opinions...this is only what works for me

if you go to reefcleaners.org they have a form you can fill out online, under the custom crew section, and John will email you back with what he thinks you need and they have really good prices, especially if you need a large crew. He gave me lots of freebees too. Great guy to work with!

liveaquaria.com used to have a chart that showed tank sizes and clean up crew recommendations..

Was just about to suggest this. Talk to John Maloney and he will tell you exactly what you need. He gives TONS of freebees. Almost twice as many snails as I ordered.

I spent like 20 bucks including shipping for my 20 gallon nano tank and got a ton of stuff, they were shipped with a heat pack as well.

OP is from the UK, so it's unlikely they can order from any of the places you've mentioned... just FYI...
