I recently purchased one the other day and just lightly placed it on a rock but it keeps moving which is ok. The issue is it keeps moving thru cracks or all the way around the rock to the backside where i cant even see it.
So im not concerned with space issues, i just want to keep it in the front to be viewable. Any thoughts? I used a powerhead to get it off the rock then just set it where need be.

Make it happy........ When they find a place they like, they stay put. Happy nems are usually not found on the glass, in shady areas or tucked into themselves. Research what makes them thrive, and then change it's enviroment to suit it...

tank is 72 bow, 2 k 4's and mag 7 return...ill probably try to move him once more and give up from there. Also, whats the best food to feed them? cyto f/pleeze(sp)?

Give it time. No need to chase it around. I purchased a BT about 3-4 weeks ago. It immediately went to the back and semi-hid. After 1 and a half weeks it came out of hiding and plopped itself right in the middle of my zoa field in plain view and has been there since. Feed him about every 7-10 days. he'll be happy.

Just read on a different thread that you just picked it up yesterday...... All it needs is a lil time and it will be fine. It might take several days to find a spot it likes, just make sure you keep your lighting and flow to the normal params right now, otherwise, it might find a place it likes now, only to move again when your params return to normal.

And usually, an anemone will move to a place it can get plenty of light, and thats usually in a highly visable place.

So i decided to feed it a small piece of raw shrimp from the grocery store and it appears to doing wierd things. Like he tentacles got all small and retracted his bubbles....any thoughts, as i hope this is what i was suppose to feed him?

I find that small particles like mysis don't get eaten that well, meaning that a lot of them don't stick to the tentacles and once in the water column, get eaten by the fish.

Mine gets 1 or 1-1/2 silversides twice a week. It is a rather large bubbletip, though, about 12-14" across.

It has moved around a couple of times... when first introduced it left the rock it was attached to and found a new spot nearby, then two times when some things went slightly awry with my water chemistry it roamed until things stabilized. IMO you can't do anything at all to make it stop moving. It will stop moving when it finds a spot it likes, and not before. Once it attaches in a spot, I'd feed it so that in addition to the flow/light it sought out, it also knows it can feed there.

I feed mine raw table shrimp once every 2 weeks. After a while it will "poop" or do a waterchange to get rid of the waste..

Should be fine. Give it a day to get back to normal.

Params:
PH 8.4
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: alittle above ten (for those wondering just did a 30 gal water change three days ago and test kit is API)
Amonia: 0
Calcium: 430
Temp: 79
Salinity:1.025
So is this normal??

Mine retracts like that every night, and if it gets fed late in the day it'll go ahead and "go to bed" early. When it was smaller, it retracted after most feedings regardless of time.
