That's was fast. I don't have access to rodi water today. So can I just put so prime into the machine?? What should the temp and time be??

I wash them in hot, just bleach (not scented bleach either!). 2 rinses, I put Prime in both rinses. I either tumble dry on low, or air dry.

You'll likely want the second rinse either way - even when the first rinse is going, the water is still kinda murky... blech.

Occasionally if they are really dirty (and I wash a bunch of huge socks for the shop), I'll bleach them twice, then rinse twice, with Prime in both rinses.

If you're drying them after washing, prime is a complete waste. Just wash them in bleach, rinse, dry & rinse again if you're paranoid. I don't bother with the second rinse.

I dont even use bleach. I need them to be mechanically clean, no pearly white, or disinfected. Just water in the washer. With my underwear.

I just pulled them out after doing a wash with 2 rinses. Still smells like bleach a little so I'm going to let them sit for the night and day.

Just let them dry & you'll be fine.

& Jeremy is right; they don't need to be disinfected, only mechanically clean, so bleach isn't neccesary.

Add a little sodium thiosulfate which will dechlorinate the filter/water after the bleach/wash cycle. If you use anything more than this it's just a waste of money. This chemical may be found in many dechlorinating products for aqarium water, most of which are dirt cheap (just read the label).

No wonder your fish don't get along with those pheromones entering the water!lol

It will grow hair on your hair

I use Seventh Generation laundry soap. It's not a detergent and is bio-degradable, so I assume it's better for the fish.

I turn the socks inside out, run them through, then turn them the right side out, and run them through again with an extra rinse cycle.

:eek:lol:lol2: im not useing socks in mine just the foam to catch the bad junk .im cheap. not really just scared they will back up on me.

That's what the active ingredient is in Prime.

This made me get a visual of my wife's face, when I ask her to wash aquarium filters with my underwear! That's rich! LoL...
