if I mixed the "fresh" bucket with 2 aged ones will I be OK?

thanks

yeah, a couple hrs and it should be fine. Normally you should it mix overnight but that's just to make sure everything is disolved.

I've always kept very hardy livestock, nothing on the delicate side. Before I joined ARC, I didn't know yyou were suppose to let SW age. I always mixed and used immediately afterward for the last 20 years.....

I do let it age a little now.

I usually let mine mix overnight however in emergency situations I've used it after only a couple of hours or so as long as everything's dissolved and it gets up to temp.

another one of those instances where the "most desired method" isn't always required (especially in a pinch)...

I've only been doing this for a couple months.. but I haven't been letting my NSW age, either...

by the way, what's the theory behind it? is there a chemical reaction that you're waiting for (aside from the H20 and Salt mixture)

here's what I could find after I used one bucket 2 hour fresh SW combined with 2 buckets aged SW to restart a nano, this is copied from another forum:

"newly mixed SW will show slightly elevated ammonia, and is caustic until it has a chance to let the ambient CO2 do its thing on calcium, carbonates... In small amounts you are probably OK but major (25% or more) I would at least do overnite with a http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/tags.php?tag=power+head">power head</a> to vigorously mix and aerate"

So I guess it's mostly OK for regular WC but in my case it was a bit dangerous, no visible effects so far in my nano but at least now I know

thanks for all the input
