How long to run lights?

<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: 13px;">Im sure this has been discussed plenty of times, but I was curious as to what is considered the sufficient amount of time for MH bulbs to run? Currently my schedule is as follows:</span></span>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: 13px;">VHO actinic from 930am-7pm and 250wMH 11am-6pm… More time on the MH’s ?</span></span>

the lights are about 2 weeks old, so to me, it looks like the corals are soakin it up. I started the lights about about 12 inches off the water then this week moved them down to about 6". So i cant really guage my actions from the livestock just yet.
