How many hours do you spend cleaning, water changes, fragging, etc each week in your tanks?

Does undivided attention count? I would say 3-4 hours per week cleaning, acclimating, and tweeking. Fragging will come soon as I am setting up a 20 long frag tank. However mine is a new setup so I am sure this number will grow.

15+ and about 15 alone on the weekends when I first started....not im down to 4-5 a week.

I just try to keep my hands out of my tank. No telling what we get on our hands.

Vdub, I can not agree more. I like to keep my hand out of my tank as much as possible, but in case of snail induced avalanches and such....I have one reef tank and 4 freshwater tanks. So I guess my number is just on my reef tank alone. I have to spend a while on my freshwater tonight. I just got done spending 6-7 hours the night before last upgrading from a 29g to a 60g cube.

I mainly just stare at my tank lol. But ya about 2-3 hours on the weekends are spent on the fish tank, mainly WC, wiping the glass, emptying and cleaning skimmer cup. Also every night just do a half cup top off of fresh water. Also, this is just a biocube 29.

With 8 SW tanks and 1 FW tank 15+hours, when I'm fragging 30 hrs easy. I do alot of standing and staring!!!:lol2:

@ peaches, where do you get a half a cup evaporation in one day? I do not use a skimmer so, maybe all that bubbling? Do most sumps run with no sort of lid/cover? I have a 60g cube and have about a half a cup evap once every 3 days or so.

I go thru 5 gallons of evap a week

~2-3 per week.

2 hours for water change bi-weekly, ~10-15 min feeding daily, few min tending to skimmer or ATO every few days.
