Making my list of items for my upcoming build and don't know how to figure out how many gph I should have for my 75g out of powerheads? I've looked at 2 koralia 1050's or 2 CoralVue 1250's.

Cool...I wasn't sure. I plan on having all types of coral.

Any history with the CoralVue's? I've never had a tank with a sump and powerheads, and both are in the same price range.

I too would like to know. I'm new at this and would never come up with a question like that. I am a little clueless about the whole flow thing and how one may affect the other.

Giggity giggity! That sir is the great debate!

Vast difference of opinion and I suggest you do a few goggle searches on it. I think however that it's fairly accepted that a slowww flow through the refugium is a must. As far as the sump.... To each there own. I personally subscribe to less powerheads and bigger return which creates massive flow through the sump. While my refugium trickles in at maybe 50 gallons an hour or .2 turn over an hour.

That is definitely the great debate. I'll say what I always say:
I can't explain why, but when I swapped the Mag 9.5 for a Mag 7 as the return pump on my 90g, my skimmer started producing more nastiness (and it wasn't just a short term change; it still does).

I gave in and bought two Koralia 1050's today. See my other post to see how it's going: "almost a disaster."
