I Just wondering how often you all replace your reactor media. And when you do, do you notice that it has become mushy?

I clean my CA reactor about once a year unless the media gets too low. When I do, depending on how much media is left, I will rinse the mush out of it and then top off with new media, or if there isn't much I just toss all of it.

The media does get mushy after a while.

What media are you using? I've never really seen it get mushy unless the pH is too low and it's melting it...you could be wasting co2 or have too small a reactor for the system. I replace media when the 1st chamber is roughly half way down.
