How Often to Clean Skimmer Body (Aqua C Specifically)

Been running a modded Aqua C Remora on my 28 cube and I clean the cup every couple days. However, after 4 months or so of use the inside of the body is getting pretty nasty ( I clean the nozzle ever so often ). Do you guys break your skimmers down all along and scrub them down or should I just let it ride.

been running mine for about 6 months and never cleaned it...

it is a remora c PRO on a mag 3

Have you checked out the inside? I bet it's pretty nasty. I'm just wondering if the protein build-up inside the housing decreases foam production. I haven't noticed any decrease in skimming, just wondering in advance.

I don't have much of a buildup at all. there is no restriction in mine.
