How stop the spreading?

I have started to get good growth on my polyps but I am trying to keep them contained to one area. If I scrape the LR where the Yellow polyps are growing will that stop the growth of them? I am trying to just grow The Green Polyps on this LR.

Put plugs around them then as they spread to far trade them.
