How to Clear Excessive Palys???

How can I thin these Palys out without losing or removing my rock?

if I cover them where they get no light will they eventually just slowly disappear to nothing?

Kalk paste, no flow, wait ten minutes, syphon kalk out. Repeat next day until desired result is achieved.
