my RBTA? They have been in the tank for 3 months now and won't even go near the RBTA. Is there any tricks on this?

Putting them both in a basket together has worked for some.

Any type of Basket really. As long as the holes aren't too big. I've had the same problem with my snowflake clowns. I've had them in my tank with a rbta for almost a year and they never host. So I sold them and got a wild caught maroon clown and it took to the nem within 15min and hasn't left it since. It's been two weeks now and their best friends. :) I'm happy.

Sorry for being so confused but do I put the clowns and RBTA in the basket? I assume I can grab one at pet smart? How long should they stay in this?

my clowns ignored my rbta for months. then one day they found it. no idea what changed.

you put the clowns and the nem into the basket. the idea is to kind of force the issue. it works for some.

side question.. I recently added a rbta to my tank and by some stroke of miracle, it has stayed where I put him... He is pretty close to where the clowns regularly lay their eggs (about 5 inches) what are the odds that my o clowns will host? How will I know when they start? I've seen the videos where they rub in the anemone.. is that all there is to it?

When they start to host, you'll know. They basically stay in it an never leave. Mine only leave to eat.

It looks like this.

This picture is two weeks old. And that's when I first put him in the tank as well ( the fish that is). Now he's ALL the way inside the Nem and doesn't want to leave. He'll only leave to eat then comes right back. I have a hard time trying to feed my nem because he clown won't leave. Lol

+1 - i used this method twice and succeeded both times.

Looks great and all but how do you trap the fish inside it and I don't have room for a 10" basket in my tank with all my lr.

float it at the top of the tank - zip tie it or otherwise secure it where the top of the basket is even with the water line. some ppl use styrofoam to keep it afloat.

Yeah, just submerge the basket so they cant swim out and over the rim of the basket and secure the rim of the basket to the rim of your tank.
