Hi guys, I was reading on Facebook and I hear about people using Peroxide to dip zoas that are not doing well. So, my question is how do I do it? Like 100% HP? Half and Half? How long do I leave the Zoa in there? Do I brush it? Should I be gentle? My little guys have been closed for a week or more. It needs help. Thank you guys in advance631ED406-68AA-4DB3-B681-1013BBCAE8C4.jpeg

I have tried a peroxide dip before with zoas and it did not end well. . I use coral rx pro to dip all new frags and it has worked well for me so far. Maybe someone else can chime in but that was my experience

I’ve used peroxide (diluted by the way-I think 1:2 ratio or 1:3) and it was used to kill some algae on some frag plugs. As for other reason zoas don’t open, I would use coral Rx or other dips for pests. Or it’s a flow/light/parameter/new tank issue/ I think usually. Lastly, some zoas don’t like some people’s tanks for whatever reason. It’s a mystery sometimes.

I have always used a 1:3 ratio on zoas. If bubble algae shows up in other places in your tank, I recommend Vibrant.

Im a religious user of peroxide on zoas with any kind of algae problems. I use no water to dilute. 100 % peroxide. I float the bottle of peroxide in the sump or tank to temp acclimate then put in bowl and beat the heck out em with a turkey baster for no longer than 2 min( i set a timer) the rinse them in tank water twice using a clean dixie cup. I only use this for algea probs that may otherwise choke out the frag. It works miracles but it will take 2 to 5 days for the polyps to come back out. They're always extremely pissed off
