Has anyone used the Hydor recirculating skimmers? I like the idea of not having to worry about water level for the skimmer to operate efficiently. My thought would be to plumb this into a manifold for the main feed of the skimmer and avoid having a second pump to drive it. Considering it for a 120 DT.

I suspect that the setup is very similar to the Reef Octopus DNW series skimmers. It has a recirculation pump attached but the main feed has to come from another pump or a manifold. I've not used the Hydor but have run the Reef Octopus and I fed it from a manifold.

Same here and I love the consistency of it without having to worry about the water level.

I just changed out my skimmer to a hydor performer 505 on my 92 corner. Didn't have room for the 705. Love the start it and forget it. You just have to make sure the return is not submerged. I got the hydor feed pump. Two days later it is pulling gunk out like crazy. Its a beast compared to my old skimmer. I love it so far.
