Hydroids?

Hey all, just came back from a weekend out and noticed a ton of tiny little snowflake-like specks all over my tank glass. A brief search of the internet suggested that they are hydroids and fairly common for newish tanks like mine.

Some sources are saying hydroids are the worst thing ever; others are saying they will probably disappear fairly soon. Any thoughts?

Yeah, that's a hydroid. They will probably go away on their own.

Never had them in mine. Actually I've never heard of them until now. Where do they come from.

Yep, hydroids. Probably hitchhiked in on something.

Users of live brine shrimp usually have the most issues with them.

If they don't colonize you'll probably be OK. Colonial hydroids will sting corals and such.
