Well, on top of my cleaner shrimp that NEVER stop spawning, looks like my two clowns have decided to leave me a little present. I have spent the entire day watching them lay eggs in their Anthillia. I got to say, it is pretty cool to watch it all go down in front of your eyes. Now I know why my female clown has been uber protective lately!!

Now my concern is, do I really want to raise them or is it free meal time for the tank?!? If I decided to raise them, anyone have a culture of live rotifers in the works right now? I just decided yesterday to start back up the phyto production but I was going to hold off for a bit on the rotifers, looks like the clowns just could not wait!!!

I may have something you can use if you want o raise those clown. I got to get back to you on that in a few hours since I have to run not now, but right now :p

Midget porn... that was about the closest I could find to shrimp porn at starship! :lol2:

No, they just do it on their own... They have been spawning every 15 days for about a year now... Anytime you get more then one, they should spawn if they are happy and well fed. I found out moon lights help too.

Thanks, Wanna a clownfish baby! ;)

I gotta say, it was kind of cool watching them lay eggs and the male doing his thing... Does that make me weird?!? :wow2:

Thats the most action Brandon has seen in a long time...thats why he watched it all day!!

lol...sorry bud I had to.

Not to be a killjoy, but it isnt worth it unless you REALLY wanna do it. I used to really try to do it. You have to feed the fry so often, and the loss is immense (which is why they have so many offspring). When I finally got successful at it, I raised like 5, and it probably cost me hundreds, not even counting the utilities, time, effort, etc. A real PITA.

Congrats Brandon! I considered raising my clownfish fry for a moment. A brief fleeting moment...:) The reward to effort ratio wasn't worthwhile to me. I do like that my shrimp and clowns are spawning all the time but more so because its a fresh natural food source for my corals. The wierd thing is that the RBTA appears to recognize the eggs for what they are. So it always opens up such that it will not smother the eggs. Also the eggs are protected from stings in the same way the clownfish are. Very cool to see.
