I just got a 75 that I'm starting to put together now to consolidate my two tanks. I have an Aqua C Urchin pro and a Euro-Reef ES5-2. I saw that the ES5-2 is rated for 40+ but the Urchin Pro is rated 75+. I was wondering about which one I should run for should I try to run both? If I run both I'll be making a new sump.

Sounds like a Cameron question to me. However, IMO, use both if you have both. I'm never a fan of running a skimmer only rated as high as the tank I'm using it on. I'm an over-skimming fan.

I'm looking at everything and I'm thinking about selling the euro-reef. its really freaking big. compared to the urchin pro. I might be modding out the Euro-reef to be out of sump if I keep it.

IMO, the euro-reef will be the better performer, but if you can't make it fit, then go w/ the urchin. the gate valve mod really helps out w/ the euroreef too.

The EuroReef should perform better but both are right at the limit of your tank size on a medium bio-load. I would probably go with the EuroReef, but I wouldn't fault you for going the other way.

You could do the recirculation mode on the ER and improve it's performance a bit but, depending on your bioload, you are pushing the limits of either skimmer.
