Well my free frags are dead.... was anyone else unlucky in this? I knew i wouldnt be able to keep it and im still a little upset....

Funny u said this , I got up this am and was looking at some zoes who sprouted a few heads this week and noticed 1 of our 2 is beginning to bleach , but I didn't have hopes for that piece to start with it was very brown at the time we got it.Maybe the other will pull through it has good color and 3 mouths
Look at it this way , you have an empty frag plug now just waiting for something to be put on it.

Yea i had two of them and both were completely white the morning. They were hollywood stunner chalices

Mine's still jamming.

Edit: I think........I hope I didn't just jynx myself.

same here. the chalice was half bleached yesterday morning and the eye is the only thing left. Haven't checked it today yet. I have 4 other corals I bought that are doing fine......

For the people having problems, how high in your tank did you put the frag?

low in the tank and low water movement. I have two other large chalice's that I've had for some time and they are growing like weeds.

Did you put them in a cooler or carry it around in your hand. Just guessing but water temp was around 80* and body temp is 98.6*, the bags were small, it would not take long to damage them. Sorry for your loss! Holley

did any of you guys dip your frags? i dont know how long they had been fragged before they got to you but i know that lots of lps and especially some chalices are really prone to infection after being fragged.

I didn't cary it much , just to the car , but I left after 4 and they were probably put in those cups the night before or early am maybe that's the issue.
all the coral I bought is 100% just the stunner frags not doing well.

I would leave them in the tank for a while. They have the ability to bounce back. I experienced the same situation with a hollywood stunner frag that I received at meeting a couple of years ago. Came home and the next morning it was completely white. I left it in the tank and it bounced back nicely. So give them a chance.

yep, had a cooler and only live right down the street. did a drip for an hour with my other corals and everything is doing fine except for the frag.

I had mine in the middle with low flow. And i pulled it out already it was so white i thought there was no way for it to come back

Mine was half bleached by yesterday too. Guess I will leave it alone for a bit and see if it comes back.

Mine is doing ok so far. I put it at the bottom of the tank in the shade. Relatively low flow.

Mine is doing fine but I was out of there by 12:30, the galaxea I bought isn't Doing so hot but that may be due to a stray current I found today

At the risk of starting a fire storm I would say the following.

1. I am sorry for those who's frags didn't make it.
2. Remember that ARC and The Fish Store were trying to do something nice for all members (and non-members for that matter).
3. As hot as it was that day, 5 minutes in the sun or in a hot car could have easily done a coral in especially one that was recently frag.
4. I understand that you are disappointed and I would be too. But the fact is that if you lost a "Free" frag you really didn't lose anything. You just didn't gain something for free.
5. Giving away free livestock is always risky. Some may say it would be better not to do it but then no one would walk away with a treat.

Not trying to come down on anyone but just wanting to put it in perspective a bit. I gave away my ticket but that does not stop me from appreciating what ARC and The Fish Store did for us. Lots of hard work went into this event by a select few who do it time and time again so that we all have a good time.

I still have mine and it's doing well. For anyone who lost there frag. Your welcome to have mine. The first one to come pick it up it's there. I'm off of exit 11 on Route 575. PM me for my address.

I may just throw in one of my free frags with the stunner.
