Yes it's a link to another site, but I didn't know how else to share it

It'll be interesting to see how successful this tank is long term. Looks pretty good right now.

It is a pretty cool tank , I'm interested to see how it will look in the weeks to come since he just put it together recently .
As far as looks I think Its a little drab looking color wise,, but im use to seeing everything glow under led

Yeah, I've been following that one too. I think Sola tubes would be a great way to light a tank this way. Just need to be able to control the PAR and as the OP said filter out some reds.

I will say at one time I had a tank that got sun during the morning, and my rbta absolutely LOVED IT!

thats an awesome Idea but he is close to the great barrier reef. so i bet the sunlight he gets is alot stronger then anything we could do here in ATL

Sunlight pretty much anywhere will completely wash out anything you can put over a tank that you can pick up in a store.

Exactly. I mean, I love the way my corals, and fish, look under my Kessil but when I dive in the ocean I still think everything is beautiful.

What I like about this is the possibility to use natural light to grow the corals and our artificial light to bring out the colors we enjoy.

Hey B,

Check out this thread, it's located south of us so the light is a bit stronger. There was an interesting discussion about ways to diffuse the the natural light and augment the blues a bit.

I should warn you, it's a bit sad. The Op and his wife built the system together and then she diagnosed with cancer.

Very sad but the tank looks amazing...the filtering mesh looks very intresting i had a problem for a long time with my tank getting direct sunlight and getting bad alge issues. if my wife didnt have a strict no holes in the house rule i would try it...but would defenitly supplement for more color. and evening viewing
