Icecap not firing a radium?

OK, I have been using an icecap ballast (new style) to run a radium 250 for around 2 weeks. Twice now I have come in to the radium not being lit. First time I just flipped ballast and both bulbs lit back up. I'm running an SPS 10k on one and a radium on the other. Today the radium did not light again. I tried rewiring and swapping the ballast to no avail. Then I stuck a spare SPS 10K in and it fired right up.

I then took an old catalina ballast I had laying around and wired it in and it fired the radium right up. Any ideas? I have honestly never heard of and icecap not firing a radium.

Have you been having any electricity burps in your area? If we get one of those 1-2 second outages, my CV e-ballasts will sometimes shut off and not come back on until I turn power off to them for a few minutes.

Actually no, I have also let everything cool down and killed power with no help :dunno:

I suspected that also but it fires right up with the catalina ballast without messing with the bulb. I also moved it to the other lumenbright and had the same symptoms

If it is not the socket, then you may have a warranty claim (if your ballast is new enough). Icecap claims their ballasts fire any SE or DE bulb.

I think thats gonna be my next email. Unfortunatly they are not new from a retailer. I believe they were new but they were purchased from another reefer. Its odd though because both Icecaps are doing it.

i ran radiums one ice cap new style ballast with no problems at all two sets of bulbs.it might be the ballast honeslty

I have an ARO 250w ballast you can have if ya want.....
