Has anybody used one of these? What were your experiences and results? I don't believe it's a "chiller" at all. Looks to me like nothing more than a rod inserted in the tank with a heatsink and fan behind it.

its a peltier(thermolectric plate)

Usual results are a 1-2 degree drop on tanks 10g and under...if youre lucky.

Wow! They claim a lot more than that. And they also claim it's good on tanks up to 30 gals. Not worth the money then.

I'm planning to run one on a nano. Gonna drill a hole in a HOB filter and let it ride. Course this is for a 5.5g tank that will be lit with LEDs, so it won't need much cooling.

The effectiveness of these will depend on the water volume and the environment (temp/humidity) they are being used in. I actually had relatively good success using one of these on a 20g. It was installed in a CPR BakPak and was able to drop the tank 2 degrees below the ambient temps in the room.
