I'm assuming it is red, due to the fact that it is red. :) But most pictures I saw did not look like this. I zoomed in, so that is why it looks so long. they are really less then an inch long and scattered on the live rock only.
So, what is it?
tank setup is almost three months old. I cut back on the 10k light, but now wonder if I should bump it back up? (i noticed the LR colors/growth starting to slow down) I have a reaction efu25 with the germ light on. (55g tank)
Times - 10k and ac lights go on at 7:00am, 10K goes off about 1:00pm, ac goes off at 9:00pm. (moonlight stays on all the time)
I also cleaned the sand in the 'dead' corner that some green algae loves. Other then buying another power head for that side, should I point my current power head down or more to the middle of the tank?
Right now I have the power head sitting about the middle corner on one side of the tank and it is pointing slightly up to about the middle of the tank. (someone told me it was best to bounce off the glass then go straight down the tank)

Yep, it is Cyano. I would put some more flow on that area and start dosing some red slime remover.

I think I may have lucked out by catching it early. I cleaned the sand for a few days and moved the power head to point middle/down. Cyano does not like wind :)
I also was mucking around with flow at the top of the tank and found that it is not always good to use all the foo-foo parts that come with some of these filters. (I have a reaction efu25)
Long story short... It came with a spray bar and some sort of flat thing to put on the end of the out hose. The docs said it is used to direct water up or down. I used it, but had to point the powerheads up to increase water flow to the top.
Well, after moving the heads down, I had to figure out how to move water at the top. I removed the flat thing to see what I can do with it and poof.. the water flows much faster without it.
Fish look happy, altho my two turbo snails will be pissed. (they used to sit on the thing) :)
