I've noticed one of my goni's has been irritable for a while and finally realized what I thought was just some exposed rock at the base of the frag was growing! I took tweezers to it before getting a good picture, but it was a paper-like tunnel built against the rock and goniopora. It seemed a lot like the tubes of my dwarf feather dusters, but just a half tunnel attached well to the rock and goni skeleton. What could have built this??
Here's an out-of-focus cropped photo from a couple days ago to give an idea of what it looked like:
Then this is a shot of the opening of the tube after I pulled it off the goni:
And the base of the tube on the rock:
There were a couple holes in the rock where the base was and I stuck my tweezers in there and twisted around some, but I'm guessing whatever it is could just squeeze further back into the rock. I haven't seen anything moving around in the area, but I'll try to check it out at night.
