I haven't put anything new in my tank in over a year. I also got rid of all my bubble tips over 2 years ago so not sure where this guy came from. Is it an aptasia?

Thanks,

Michael

I still can't tell even with those pics here is a clearer one. The one in my tank has a larger base than those in the pics. Wondering if it is a bubble tip that got left behind when I sold my others. Here are a couple more pics.

I have to decided not to take the risk and get rid of it. It is in my sump on my feeder so I will take it out and hit it with a burst of fresh water from the kitchen faucet. That should take care of it.

It looks a lot like an aptasia but the stalk of aptasia are usually much longer and the attached foot is usually smaller. Not a bad call to get rid of it but I also don't see aptasia as that big a deal. Every once in a while I'll have one pop up and AptasixX knocks it right out.

Is the bottom hard, rock like. It looks like a star coral polyp common to live rock from the Carribian and surrounding areas. Google star coral and see if it looks like that.

It looks pretty healthy, it must get light in your sump? Blah white, resembles Aptasia, I’d kill it too.
