Been seeing a few of these pop up over the past month and can't figure out what they are. It's the little purple thing on the right side of the rock

Crap. I only see about three of them. Can I just scrape them off the rock?

Haha, if it were that easy, then they wouldn’t be considered a pest.

They will reproduce by the hundreds/thousands in your tank. Getting a Aiptasia predator is your best bet.

If you can remove the rock from the tank to scrape very thoroughly your chances are much better. And covering any hole in the rock that may hold any spec of the aiptasia with epoxy or super glue will increase your odds of success.

I've seen good success if you can inject hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice directly in its mouth.

I was reading about those options as well. I think I will try those first. I'm not a fan of getting a fish I don't want just to eat a couple of pests.

We used this stuff below when we found one in our tank a year or so ago. Have not seen more since. We caught it very early though.
