I cannot get my camera to take a good pic, but I'll keep trying.

In my 30g, there are what looks like little feather duster tubes (no feather duster), but at the base they are curly (they look like little piles of dog poo with the end sticking up a little further). They are solid in shape, and they seem to be multiplying. some are purplish in color, while most are just white. They also seem to be more solid than soft, they do not flex when touched.
 
Sounds like Spirorbid worms. Filter feeders you can find more info here

Probably a Vermetid Snail they can bug some corals but will not kill them. They seem to come and go in phases. You can always break them of what w=ever they are attached to. I do this sometimes.
