Can someone tell me what this little guy is? It is white with 8 points and translucent tenticles leading off of each point. I found it on my main display tank front glass a few nights ago and this is the best picture I could get of it. It is about the size of the head of a pin. It is no longer there so it either died, was eaten or moved on. It was not mobile while I observed it.

An extreme zoom view.

A couple more... high contrast and perspective (the bugger is circled in RED).

It is a Hydroid. Not the colonial type though, it is to a jellyfish like an Aiptasia is to anemone.

Thanks Chris, that is what mt initial thought was too but my search only found the colonial ones so I was stumped. A little more digging found this page on Wet Web Media
a> That confirms it...

I thought so too! Never saw one in my tank before, must have come in on a recent introduction.
