Can someone confirm what this is for me please. It's been sticking around my tank for about two weeks now. I'm thinking it's red slime and I've tries the red slime remover with no luck. Suggestions on how to remove it would be great. Thanks.

Looks like cyano to me....
Does it get worse late in the light cycle? Have any fish/inverts gone missing lately?

I did add a wrasse in there about two weeks ago and never saw it again. The slime seem to go away when the lights go out. I notice that my sand clears up in the morning when I go to work. (around 6:30am) and when I come home in the afternoon, my sand bed is covered in it. Any suggestion on removal? I have great flow in my tank, two return nozzle with two mp10w es. I do about 15-20 gallon wc every week. My tank is a red sea max 250 so the total water volume is only 65g.

The dead fish is adding a rapid dose of nutrients to your tank, feeding the cyano. I would advise that you do water changes late in the day and siphon out as much as you can. It is a photosynthetic bacteria that thrives with lights on, but it is also removing nutrients as it grows..

I was thinking the dead fish may have been the case, but I've had dead fish in the tank before without this happening. Maybe it's due to such a small tank? I've been removing the slime as I do my weekly wc so I guess I'll just continue to do so and hope it goes away soon. Thank do the info Matt.
