I am thinking about making an aquascape a little closer to a fresh water aquascape and limiting myself to three to five corals, and repeating them for about 75% of the tank. If you were given this assignment what would you choose? One detail is that come to mind is that the coral needs to move in the water flow.

What kind of lighting do you have? That will make a big difference in the responses. However, if you want movement then anthelia, pompom xenia, yellow polyps, finger leathers, toadstool leathers and mushrooms would be some good ones.

Lighting hasn't been purchased so everything is fair game assuming the coral will work together.

I would do maybe a kenya tree green star polyps some insane colored zoas with the long skirts. Some frogspawn and maybe a really nice sps coral

Frogspawn, torch, and hammers for me. I have a whole corner of my tank with just them. And sps everywhere else!

I would do 3 x SPS and 2 x Zoa/Paly and let them colonize:

SPS:

1 - Tyree Pink lemonade
2 - ORA Pearl Berry
3 - Lime in the Sky Acro

Zoa:

1 - Rasta
2 - Red or Purple Hornet

I saw pics of a tank overrun completely by xenia and gsp. Looked pretty cool actually.

Oh ya that sounds better!! Gsp as a grassy field. One big Ora birdsnest trimmed up to look like n oak tree. N Zoas mAde to look like bushes!

If you decide to go Acro I would do a milli to get movement. GSP and Toadstool, and xenia all produce movement and tree corals

My top 3 choices would be Xenia for movement, (blue, purple and/or gold) mushrooms for growth and while not actually a coral, I would add a rose bubble tipped anemone to display an example of symbosis.
