IM skimmer pump

IM nuvo medium skimmer- I just unboxed my 4th pump in about a year. Is there something about these reputationally that I don’t know or am I just lucky? In all cases, the pump hums but stops moving water.

Has anyone run the skimmer using another pump? I’ve got it in a nuvo 30l.

Is something getting stuck in the pump? Have you taken the pumps apart?

I’ve had mine for 2 years no problem but I try to clean gunk off it once every couple months

Only one end opens for cleaning right? no accumulation of gunk on them historically. If both ends open, I don’t know how to open the side without the inlet

Other end may open I dont know. The main part to open is the intake and outlet side. The impeller comes out. Just make sure it is clean and free of debris. I have a cheap transfer pump I bought it dont like saltwater for some reason. I have to bump it to make it work. No problems in fresh water. I use it to pump my rodi water
