Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to the club and the frag swap this past weekend was my first meeting. Thanks for the warm welcome. I figured I might as well show everyone my tank (and up my message count so I can get in on some of these contests!). This is my first saltwater tank after having fresh for 7 or 8 years. I still have a 90 gallon planted tank that I'm proud of but after having this little reef tank for about 8 months, I'm totally hooked. Trying to avoid MTS but already feel like I'm running out of room! My end goal is a well-designed display tank with a wide variety of NPS, LPS, and SPS corals, and just a couple special fish and invert friends. I know it's going to get tough to keep the nutrient balance for all that but we'll see how it goes. I probably won't update this toooo much but I have a detailed build thread on nano-reef if anyone is on there.

Here's a somewhat current FTS:

Current fish is a watchman goby. I'm not totally pleased with it (thought it would be yellow for one thing :/) and might try to exchange it for a smaller, more colorful shrimp goby at some point.

I also have a pom pom crab which I adore:

And a couple of my favorite corals at the moment:

And here's a kind of "dream" layout plan I drew:

So far things have been pretty smooth for me, but like I said, I'm a newbie and realize I've got some high aspirations so we'll see how it goes. I'll take all the advice I can get!

Seeing your plan is so cool. I've not thought of doing that before for my reef tanks... they just kind of evolve. I like it.

Thanks yall! I figured if I'm only going to have one little 10 gallon tank I better make sure I like what I'm doing, though I'm starting to realize it's not toooo hard to take stuff out and sell off corals if something isn't working... as long as I'm not putting GSP or xenia on my main rockwork, hah. My "plan" has also changed several times since I started, but at least it kinda keeps me focused on what's really going to work best, instead of buying every single pretty coral I see.

Nice tank! I like the blue zoas with the green mouth. I’ve always been fond of people eater type zoas.

Not a ton to update on but I have a new FTS to share and got a new fish recently!

I added the monti caps, pagoda cup, and a weird mushroom that I got from the frag swap and bought a frag rack to deal with all the extras I'm starting to have. Everything's already starting to run into each other. Looks like I might be moving to a 20 gallon pretty soon after all...

And meet my new fish, Princess Lulu (or Sophie, or Priscilla, or Tina... ok, still working on a name), the Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse:

I LOVE this fish!!! It's so much more beautiful than I realized possum wrasses could be. It's pretty shy but only been in the tank a week and seems to be getting friendlier every day.

I also started dosing recently, still trying to get alkalinity up to a reasonable level then going to do automated 2-part.

Where did you find a possum wrasse? They are hard to find. Always wanted one. Live aquaria is always out of stock when I look.

I got this one from the liveaquaria diver's den. They seem to have them fairly regularly, once every week or two? I usually see the white banded or tanaka more often. There's a couple harder to find things I've been wanting so I subscribed to the sneak peek email where they tell you what is likely to be added to the diver's den later in the day. Then if there's something I want I can be prepared to jump on the computer right at 6 when they add listings.
